GIFEC & the ADC to champion key ITU projects

The Accra Digital Centre, ADC, a technology park designed to create a conducive ecosystem for digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana has committed to championing the International Telecommunications Union, ITU, ‘Smart Incubator‘ programme within the sub-region.

A statement issued in Accra by the Corporate Affairs Department of Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications, GIFEC, said the decision to lead the initiative was declared at the 2019 World Summit on the Information Society, WSIS, Forum held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The ITU has accepted the initiative by Ghana and that a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed between ITU and ADC for the ‘Smart Incubator’ programme to commence.

The ITU ‘Smart Incubator’ programme is purposely designed to assist and support technology-oriented entrepreneurs and start-ups in the early development stages, including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Internet of Things.
