The next A4AI multi-stakeholder coalition forum in Ghana is just around the corner and we plan to be involved. We are looking forward to hearing and learning from core A4AI members, alongside Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister of Communications, Mr. Kofi Asante, Administrator, GIFEC and Ms. Estelle Akofio-Sowah, Ghana Country Manager, C Squared.
For a little background, the first Alliance For Affordable Internet, A4AI, Ghana multi-stakeholder coalition forum took place on February 11, 2014 in Accra, Ghana. The forum established a Ghanaian multi-stakeholder coalition that will contribute towards the government policy to bring about affordable Internet access to all Ghanaians.
Quoting directly from the A4AI 2018 event agenda, they state that –
The Alliance aims to increase the affordability of both mobile and fixed-line Internet access dramatically, with a focus on achieving a goal of “1 for 2” – no more than 2% of monthly income per capita for 1GB broadband connection.
For those – like us – galvanised by the report and recommendations of their 2017 Ghana Infrastructure Sharing & Open Access Study, and hugely anticipating the upcoming 2018 forum event this Thursday, August 23, coalition information and can be accessed via the A4AI event page, along with the agenda for the day.
Drop us a message via our contact form if you are attending and we will try and catch up.
Until next time. Yebeshyia bio.
