The Chale Wote Street Art Festival, also known as Chale Wote, is an alternative platform that brings art, music, dance and performance out into the streets of Accra. The festival targets exchanges between scores of local and international artists and patrons by creating and appreciating art together.
Mantse Aryeequaye described the festival as –
An effort to disrupt the usual way of interacting with art, while reimagining how we use former colonial spaces, especially in Ghana.
The event has just concluded in Accra for this year, but check out their Instagram, this great article via The Culture Trip, and our gallery below. More updates to follow.
